Quality Reviews

The University conducts formal quality reviews of organisational areas and other areas of activity to assure itself of:

  • the quality of its operations
  • alignment with the University’s strategic plan, and
  • compliance with the Higher Education Threshold Standards and other external requirements.

Faculty, Institute and thematic reviews are conducted every seven years. Unscheduled reviews of any organisational area or matter may also be carried out at any time at the request of the Vice-Chancellor.

The process is used to identify areas of excellence, potential and opportunities for improvement.

The Review Procedure includes:

Schedule A: Organisational Areas of Activity
Schedule B: Panel Composition
Schedule C: Standard Terms of Reference
Schedule D: Performance Report Appendices

The procedure does not apply to evaluations conducted by Internal Audit or areas of the University as part of their own ongoing arrangements for ensuring continuous quality improvement.

Review Schedule

The review schedule 2014 – 2025 (88 KB) sets out the projected cycle for Faculties, Institutes and Areas of Activity reviews. This schedule is subject to annual evaluation to ensure relevance and alignment to the University’s strategic agenda.
