Welcome to the home page of Deakin University’s Risk Office.
The Risk Office provides specialist risk and business continuity support and advice to the University’s organisational areas.
The application of risk management is to ensure the University has an appropriate response to risks that may impact operations and/or performance. The Risk Office assists organisational areas in identifying, analysing and managing risks in order for the University to make well informed decisions to meet its strategic objectives.
Business continuity management (BCM) is an operational measure which identifies criticalities and priorities for the University to focus its efforts and resources on recovering quickly. BCM is aligned to the University’s risk management framework and utilises risk processes in identifying, rating and prioritising business continuity risks.
The primary focus of business continuity management is to identify potential incidents that threaten the University and to provide a framework for building strength and capability to effectively respond to disruptive events.
For furture information on either of these areas please contact the Risk Manager.
