Welcome to the Deakin Learning Toolkit (DLT), the one-stop shop for how to access, navigate and make the most of Deakin’s services, facilities and online environment.

Deakin has provided this valuable resource to students for twelve years. Now in DVD format, the DLT not only contains software for you to download, but also a wealth of information about Deakin.

You can learn about Deakin’s information technology services, get tips on study success, and even watch tutorials on topics like using email.

If you have a question about IT at Deakin there’s a good chance it will be answered on the DLT. You don’t even need to be connected to the Internet.

First year off-campus students receive the DLT with their course materials. If you are an on-campus student you can get your copy of the DLT from DUSA, Deakin Central or the Library.

Deakin University takes the personal comfort and safety issues associated with prolonged keyboard use very seriously for both staff and students. Consequently, each year the DLT contains a copy of the innovative keyboarding software typeSmart. This software is designed to increase personal efficiency with the keyboard and to minimise the potential for keyboard related injuries.

As an added incentive to use the software, Meta Innovation will be giving away three $100 Myer gift vouchers to students or staff. The winners will be the three most improved candidates who have also completed pre- and post-training questionnaires. See the competitions page for details.
