Two workshops were held in November for Deans, Heads of School, Directors and senior managers on two campuses. These workshops gave these senior managers an overview of Deakin's new emergency arrangments, the preparation required to be ready for an emergency and the possible actions required of them in the event of an emergency. Participants also had the opportunity to share their experiences with their colleagues.

If you have a Phoenix machine,
you may have noticed images of Assembly Areas on the University screensavers.
Assembly Areas are a safe place to assemble and await further instructions
from the emergency services during an emergency. The University has designated
specific spots for each campus as Assembly Areas.
If you are a staff member, your Phoneix machine
will display the Assembly Areas of the campus where you normally work on.
To raise the awareness of students, the Phoenix
machines in the Computer Laboratories will also display the Assembly Areas
of the relevant campuses.
