Information and training
  • Information, fact sheets and workshops on a range of equity and disability issues for staff and students
  • Training programs to promote cross-cultural communication, diversity management and awareness of rights and responsibilities under national and state anti-discrimination legislation
Advice about rights and responsibilities
  • Advice to managers, staff and students about their rights, responsibilities and legislative requirements
  • Advice about managing complex student issues
Helping staff to support students
  • Support in implementing study and assessment accommodations for students with disability
  • Services to assist staff in teaching and supporting students from diverse backgrounds (including students with disability):
  • information and advice about disability and its impact in the study environment
  • practical inclusive teaching and assessment strategies
  • determining the inherent requirements of courses
  • workplace learning guidelines for students with disability
  • arrangement of support strategies and provision of advice to staff.
Reporting
  • Reporting to State and Federal government agencies on progress towards achievement of equity and diversity goals as required
