The Second Australia and New Zealand Home Haemodialysis Workshop

Maintaining the Momentum . . . .

The organising committee extends a warm welcome to you to attend the Second Australia and New Zealand Home Haemodialysis Workshop in Geelong, Victoria held in February 2007.

Following on from the success of the First Australasian Home Haemodialysis Workshop held in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2004, the Second Workshop plans to build on and explore further some of the key issues surrounding the successful implementation of Home Haemodialysis programmes in Renal Units today.

Patient numbers continue to grow and dialysis resources are naturally stretched. These factors combined with a renewed interest in frequent and extended hour haemodialysis and the benefit that these forms of dialysis afford people with kidney failure, have logically led to a resurgence of interest in dialysis in the home.

We are excited to be able to announce that Dr Robert Lindsay, Dr John Moran and Ms Debbie Brouwer will be our principal plenary speakers. For more information on them please refer to our speakers page.

Our plenary speakers will be supported by an expert multidisciplinary team of speakers and facilitators from throughout Australia and New Zealand. The theme for the workshop will be "maintaining the momentum." Issues that both promote and inhibit the success of home haemodialysis will be explored. Posters will be invited and a dedicated session will be held for their presentation.

The Home Haemodialysis Workshop offers an opportunity for medical, nursing, technical and allied health staff to seek, share, combine and attain knowledge and ideas to both improve practice and health outcomes for their patients.

We look forward to seeing you there!
