Policy management

The Policy Office oversees the development, review, approval and publishing of policies and procedures.

Deakin develops policies and procedures to:

  • support its strategic aims
  • improve the management of risk, and promote efficiency
  • facilitate compliance with legislation and relevant standards
  • document the University's position on key issues in a consistent manner.

Policy review project

A project is underway to ensure all policies and procedures:

  • are simple, clear and comprehensive
  • support Deakin's strategic aims
  • are consistent with legislation and relevant standards
  • reduce administrative burden
  • reduce risk
  • are developed, implemented and reviewed consistently throughout the University.

Policy Office contacts

The Policy Office is available to provide information and support including:

  • advice about existing policies and procedures
  • facilitation of the development and amendment of policies and procedures
  • management of consultation and approval processes for policy changes, including revocations
  • identification of gaps, overlaps or inconsistencies within the policy framework.
