Asset Maintenance & Renewal, Facilities Services

The Asset Maintenance & Renewal team maintains all existing grounds, buildings and infrastructure to ensure their ongoing, efficient operation. Services include:

  • compliance with the Building Code of Australia (BCA) and other building regulations
  • compliance with essential fire and life safety regulations
  • reactive / unscheduled maintenance
  • scheduled maintenance programs
  • forecasting life-cycle costs of buildings
  • managing contracts for waste, cleaning, lifts, fire and pest control
  • works associated with Service Level Agreements with the University's affiliated bodies, such as the Deakin University Student Association, the Deakin Management Centre, Deakin student residence buildings and the Geelong Performing Arts Centre
  • advice on future funding imperatives for proposed projects (such as cleaning, building maintenance and operational costs)

Condition-based auditing has led to a 5 year maintenance plan for Deakin’s built environment.
