Return to the top of the page Works on Bennettswood Oval - Burwood

Starts 18/09/2014, finishes 31/10/2014

Whitehorse Council has appointed a contractor, Meinhardt, to conduct an environmental land management assessment of Bennettswood Reserve. This will involve drilling some monitoring wells to assess the subsurface conditions at the reserve. Air and water from the wells will be monitored in weeks preceding the drilling.

Return to the top of the page Goodstart Childcare Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus - Waurn Ponds

Starts 15/09/2014, finishes 31/03/2015

 

Deakin is constructing a new childcare facility at the Waurn Ponds Campus.

Designed, built and funded by Goodstart Early Learning Centres, the facility will be located on the main entrance to the campus between Baxter and Alfred Deakin Drives.

Construction of the facility will commence in the week commencing 16 June 2014 and will be operational by March 2015.

The existing seven car parks will be demolished and incorporated in to the new facility.

Starts 04/10/2014, finishes 28/02/2015

This preliminary notice is to advise of pending works to refurbish the existing lecture theatre, foyer, amenities and external areas of Building X at the Melbourne Burwood Campus. The proposed works are scheduled to commence on Saturday 4 October 2014 and continue to February 2015.

The scope of works includes demolition works, new amenities, upgrade of lecture theatre seating, external and internal painting and new carpet.

There may be disruption to pedestrian traffic and ask that directional signage be observed.

We shall endeavour to keep any noise and inconvenience caused by the works to a minimum.

Starts 06/10/2014, finishes 28/02/2015

This preliminary notice is to advise of pending works to refurbish the North West wing of Building ka at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus. The proposed works are scheduled to commence on Monday 6 October and continue to February 2015.

The scope of works includes the installation of new fittings and fixtures including floor and window furnishings, light fittings and lecture theatre seating as well as new mechanical plant and audio visual equipment.

Levels 3, 4 and 5 of the North West wing will be closed during construction however the remaining areas will be open albeit with the possibility of some minor interruptions to pedestrian traffic for short intervals.

We shall endeavour to keep any noise or inconvenience caused by the works to a minimum.

Starts 22/09/2014, finishes 20/12/2014

Works to upgrade balustrades and handrails in and around Buildings C, EA, EC, J, P, S, and V at the Melbourne Burwood Campus are scheduled to commence on Monday 24 September with an expected completion date of 20 December 2014.

There may be disruption to pedestrian traffic and ask that directional signage be observed.

We shall endeavour to keep any noise or inconvenience caused by the works to a minimum.

This preliminary notice is to advise of pending works to refurbish lecture theatres 1 and 2, and the adjoining foyer in Building I at the Melbourne Burwood Campus. The proposed works are scheduled to commence on Saturday 4 October 2014 and continue to February 2015.

The scope of works includes the replacement of lecture theatre seating and tablets, painting, new carpet and light fittings.

There may be disruption to pedestrian traffic and ask that directional signage be observed.

We shall endeavour to keep any noise and inconvenience caused by the works to a minimum.

Starts 21/07/2014, finishes 31/10/2014

 

 

Works to install a new concrete footpath leading from Building na across to Building id (Chapel) at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus are scheduled to commence Monday 21 July with an expected completion of mid October 2014, weather permitting.

There will be some disruption to pedestrian traffic during this time. Please observe all directional signage that will be in place.

Return to the top of the page Lift Upgrade Buildings ka and ic - Waurn Ponds

Starts 27/10/2014, finishes 19/12/2014

Works to upgrade the passenger lifts in Buildings ka and ic at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus will commence Monday 27 October and continuing through to Friday 19 December 2014.

There will be no lift access available in the buildings during this time.

The responsible project officer from Facilities Services will be working with key stakeholders to ensure any concerns are addressed and have strategies in place for impacted occupants.

Return to the top of the page Residential Tennis Court Upgrade - Waurn Ponds

Starts 23/06/2014, finishes 26/09/2014

Stage one works to upgrade the residential tennis courts at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus are scheduled to commence on Monday 23 June with an expected completion date of Friday 25 July 2014. This work will include demolition of the current facilities, asphalt resurfacing, line marking, new net assemblies and an upgrade to the lighting.

The courts will then reopen until Monday 15 September when stage two works will commence until Friday 26 September. This is when the new acrylic surface will be installed.

While works are in progress access to the courts will not be possible.
