The Deakin Medical School was announced by the Federal Government on 8 April 2006 to fill the shortage of rural and regional medical practitioners by training an annual intake of 120 commonwealth supported students. This is the first rural and regional Medical School in Victoria.
The design principles and outcomes for the project were to provide facilities that are:
