The Science Building was built in the early 1970's. The original building had three stories and a floor area of 9,000m2. In the late 1980s a further 4,500m2 was added in the form of two basement fitouts and a rooftop extension. A further 2,500m2 was added in the early 1990s with the construction of a three story extension to the north-west.
The scope of the project included:
Building ka (Science Building) currently houses teaching and research laboratories and associated support areas, tutorial rooms, lecture theatres, offices, and staff and student amenities.
