Who is working for you today? Have your contractors got the appropriate insurance coverage they need? Are they qualified to perform the task? Have they received the training needed to work on your site? If you can’t be certain of the answers to these questions without looking through files or asking somebody else, CIM may be the solution you need.

CIM is a powerful tool/program for creating, editing and maintaining records of contractors working on site at one or a multiple of sites. This electronic system allows accurate reporting, as well as easy management of 2,500+ contractors employed by 500+ companies.

Why use CIM?

A number of key factors contributed to the development of CIM, none the least Section 21 of the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act (1985) which is reinforced by its successor the Victorian Occupational Health and Safety Act (2004). Local Acts in other Australian states and New Zealand reflect the same requirements

From a legal perspective, providing contractors with information, instruction, training and supervision is mandatory and as many organisations do, the provision of induction is the first step to compliance.

Organisations such as a university or hospital maintenance and construction department face many unique issues when engaging contractors, however the sheer volume and diversity of contractors working on site at any one time is not experienced by many other organisations. In an effort to effectively comply with the Act, sensible management systems need to be employed. CIM offers this assistance in overcoming the practical difficulties faced by organisations in this legislation bound commercial world.
