In 2003, a 'Green Team' was established in Facilities Management Division with the aim to identify the flows of energy into and out of the University’s buildings. The aim of the green team was to identify opportunities where education, intervention, and manipulation can help to reduce the flow both in (energy) and out (waste).
The team demonstrated simple yet effective tools that could be introduced
to the wider University community as standard operating procedures for better
sustainable practice.
There are five guiding principles:
