Once your enrolment has been finalised (see the 'How to enrol'), you will receive The A-Z guide for off-campus students in the mail. This guide provides helpful information on the services available to off-campus students at Deakin. You will also receive an invitation to take part in an interactive online orientation for off-campus students which provides helpful information regarding course materials, enrolment variations, submission of assignments, examinations and results, as well as information on how to access a range of Deakin services.
Once you have enrolled as an off-campus student, you need to select an examination location.
Choose a location from the list of examination locations and email your student ID number and the requested exam location to ext-exam@deakin.edu.au.
Self-help groups provide off-campus students with the opportunity to make personal contact with fellow students. Groups are formed of students who have agreed to share their names and telephone numbers with others studying the same unit - this means that you may be contacted one-on-one by other students or invited to join a self-help group.
You can opt into a self-help group when enrolling online, in Step 2i. Self-help lists are available on StudentConnect under the 'View course/unit' option on the sidebar menu. If you wish to remove yourself from the self-help group, contact Customer Service, as you cannot do this via StudentConnect.
