On-Campus enrolment

Where do I go?

You can view and print a campus map from the Campuses web site. When you arrive at the University, report to your Course Advice and Enrolment Session venue as per your Deakin offer email.

Where do I park?

On enrolment days ONLY, parking permits on campuses are not required in the General Parking Permit Zones and blue and red Permit Zones (at the Warrnambool campus) only. Refer to the appropriate campus map to locate the car parks. Parking in other Permit Zones may incur fines.

Traffic control officers will be situated in car parks to offer assistance with directions. If you are unfamiliar with the University, we recommend you park in the following relevant car park:

Melbourne Burwood Campus - Car Park 6, levels 3, 4 & 5
Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus - Car Park 3
Geelong Waterfront Campus - Car Park 2

Please visit http://www.deakin.edu.au/services/parking/ for more information.

What should I bring?

You should bring:

  • your Deakin username and password
  • a pen and a bag to carry the papers and publications you will receive on the day
  • your VTAC offer letter
  • your Deakin Student ID as advised in your Deakin offer email
  • notes on the units you wish to study for the year ahead
  • your tax file number (if you wish to access HECS-HELP).

What will I have to do on the day?

There are five steps to the enrolment process:

  1. Report to the Course Advice and Enrolment Session venue.
  2. Obtain enrolment advice for the units you wish to study.
  3. Complete a personal enrolment sheet, which will be given to you on the day, and make sure that all the information is correct.
  4. After your Course Advice and Enrolment Session, you will be directed to a computer lab where you will use your username and password to enrol online. Alternatively, you may choose to enrol online from home ensuring you meet the deadline advised.
  5. After enrolling online, you can have your photo taken for your Deakin ID card which will be given to you on the day. (Note ID cards are not available until 2012)

How long will enrolment take?

You should plan for at least a couple of hours to complete the enrolment process. Please note that it may take longer if you do not have your username and password set up before your Course Advice and Enrolment Session, as these can take a few hours to activate completely. Enrolment is a simple process, but a large number of students will be enrolling at the same time, so please be patient.

What if I can't make it to my course advice and enrolment session?

If you can’t make it to your Course Advice and Enrolment Session, you should contact Customer Service and ask to speak to your Faculty course adviser to discuss your enrolment and unit selections. You must then enrol online via StudentConnect.

What if I have a disability or medical condition?

If you need assistance on enrolment day, please contact Customer Service to advise them of your requirements. You may also wish to talk to the staff of the Disability Resource Centre. Customer Service can connect you to the centre; alternatively, visit http://www.deakin.edu.au/current-students/services/disability/index.php or read ‘Students with a disability or health condition’ for more information.

I would like to participate in Deakin's Gap Year Program. What should I do?

If you would like to participate in Deakin’s Gap Year Program and are considering undertaking a unit during your gap year you can speak to a Faculty course adviser at your Course Advice and Enrolment Session. At this session you will learn more about the program, how to choose an appropriate unit and have your questions answered.
