Creating your username and password

To accept your offer, defer or participate in the gap-year program, you must activate your Deakin IT account and obtain your username and password. Your Deakin IT account then becomes your University email account; you must use this account and check it regularly for contact with the University.

You must create your username and password prior to attending your enrolment information session to allow time for it to activate. We recommend you do this the day before.

Your account can be activated as follows:

  1. Go to www.deakin.edu.au/password/.
  2. Under the heading 'Students', click on the link 'I'm a new student and need to activate my username'.
  3. Read the Conditions of Use and click 'I Agree' if you accept these.
  4. Complete all the fields on the 'Username and password generation' page. You will find your student number and course code on your Deakin offer email.
  5. Click 'confirm identity' and your username and password will be displayed.

After you have activated your IT account and attended your Course Advice and Enrolment Session (if you are an on-campus student), you can enrol online via StudentConnect at studentconnect.deakin.edu.au/connect/webconnect.
