This unit is designed to provide students with an opportunity to expand upon the techniques and strategies developed in ALW730 Creative nonfiction: telling it slant. It explores possibilities for developing creative nonfiction narratives through extended profiles, memoir and biography, reviews and the personal essay. Legal and marketing issues related to the publication of creative nonfiction writing are also explored. Intensive workshopping of ideas and work-in-progress will take place, as will critical reading and analysis of a range of published materials.
