Content

Students will investigate authentic problems and issues in teaching, assessment and curriculum development, with a focus on English/literacy learning. They will develop pedagogical approaches and curriculum perspectives to address the education and learning needs of a diverse range of learners including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander learners and justify these curriculum and assessment decisions from socio-cultural and developmental learning perspectives.

Assessment 1

Articulation of Practice: Curriculum and Assessment 50% 2500 words

This task requires students to develop and present an analysis of issues in (English/literacy*) curriculum, planning and assessment for a diverse range of learners and to a designated audience such as colleagues, learners, parents and carers.

 

 

Assessment 2

Text-based case study for diverse learners 50% 2500 words

This task requires development of a text-based case study that proposes and critically analyses a pedagogical design for diverse learners including those of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent or who identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander. The case study includes description of learners, school context and community; engagement with (English/literacy*) curriculum and assessment, to promote an inclusive learning-friendly environment, that is developmentally appropriate and acknowledges learner diversity.
