Content
Topics in this unit include;
- Defining learning communities, communities of practice and professional networks
- Discussing leading for change within communities of practice
- Establishing a virtual learning community, and contributing to leadership within a virtual community;
- Identifying the changing role of leadership in teaching and learning
- Exploring pedagogy as leadership
- Implications of collaborative networks for the leader teacher
- Different leadership agendas and practices within a community/context
Assessment
Task 1 - Online discussion and critical analysis 50% Critical analysis of theories of informal leadership in communities of practice and learning communities as found in the literature. Engaging others with unit content/ideas to further demonstrate your understanding of learning communities and communities of practice and leadership within a PLC.
Task 2 - Critical Analysis fo scenario 50% Critically analyse a selected scenario, with reference to theories and practices of leadership as these are these are discussed in readings on PLCs/CoPs/PLNs to provide evidence of understanding and application of theories through an informed discussion.
