This unit commences Trimester 2 2015.
You will need to access substantial learning resources and experiences in CloudDeakin (Deakin’s online learning environment). Compliance with the Standards in computing, connectivity and student capability are a condition on your enrolment.
This unit will develop vocationally-relevant professional skills in medical biotechnology, through a series of seminars, cloud (online) modules and a negotiated work placement of a minimum of 100 hours with a relevant organisation organised with approval of the unit chair, which provides experiential learning opportunities to consolidate skills learnt throughout the course. Areas of professional development to be covered include resume/cover letter preparation, interview skills, professionalism, ethics, occupational health and safety.
Assessment task 1: Written report (1500 words) 20%
Assessment task 2: Oral presentation (10 minutes) 10%
Assessment task 3: Written project proposal (500 words) 20%
Assessment task 4: Written report (1200 words) 35%
Assessment task 5: External evaluation 15%
