The aim of the placement is to provide specialist skills in the assessment and treatment of problems associated with offenders and victims. Students should have substantial client contact and will carry their own caseload, under supervision. Students will be required to provide at least one case report from their placement, covering the presenting symptoms, assessment techniques, diagnosis of disorders using DSM-IV, and appropriate treatment strategies.
Attendance for 50 days; presentation of log book to the University Supervisor within 21 days of completing the placement; satisfactory report on the professional ethical competence of student from the Placement Supervisor and the University Supervisor; the above assessment constitutes 100% of the assessment for this unit, failure to satisfactorily complete the requirements of any one component will result in the student failing the unit and may result in the student's exclusion from the course.
