Content
The unit aims to provide students with an understanding of the range of factors that can both enhance and be a barrier to the occupational performance of individuals. Students will be introduced to the skills and method of task analysis to identify the physical, cognitive, behavioural, psychosocial and contextual factors that can influence a person’s ability to perform everyday activities. From the framework of task analysis, students will apply this approach to a range of occupations and workplace scenarios. The unit also includes core occupational therapy assessments of upper limb function including goniometry, manual muscle testing and sensory assessment. Teaching methods include lectures, tutorials, group-based learning and work-site visits. Through this unit, students will begin to gain an understanding of how everyday activities can be assessed and structured to facilitate the participation of individuals in their chosen and required occupational performance activities.

Written assignment (2000 words) 45%, written case report (1000 words) 20%, practical examination (20 minutes) 25%, 4 online tutorial quizzes (2.5% per quiz) 10%
