English language requirements
Applicants for undergraduate Deakin courses must meet the English language requirements, to the level/band required for the course, as specified below in Table UG-A.
Applicants must demonstrate they meet the English language requirements, to the level required for the course, in at least one of the following ways:
- Satisfactory completion of Year 12 Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE) English, or equivalent previous studies where English is the Language of instruction and Assessment of the Institution, in accordance with the specifications below in Table UG-B, OR
- Satisfactory completion of previous studies where English generally is not the language of instruction and assessment of the Institution, in accordance with the specifications below in Table UG-C, OR
- Satisfactory completion of an English language test, in accordance with the specifications below in Table UG-D, OR
- Achievement of English language proficiency as deemed acceptable by the Academic Board, on a case-by-case basis.
