Many students choose to rent flats, apartments or houses with other students, own their own or with a family. Deakin University Student Association (DUSA4U) Student Support Officers will help you find off-campus accommodation (new window). DUSA can assist you to find temporary accommodation until a permanent place is found and they provide assistance with obtaining second hand furniture and setting up a home. Rental properties can also be searched on Realestate (external site) which is Australia's largest real estate website. You are able to specify how many bedrooms you are looking for, the location and the price range. Another website that caters for students looking for a share house or rental is Flatmates (external site). You can search for a place around each of the Deakin campuses.
Additional off-campus accommodation for students based at Deakin's Melbourne Campus at Burwood may be available at the privately managed International House (external site).
