Services and facilities

Deakin is committed to providing its students with all the support, advice and encouragement you may need prior to and throughout your studies at Deakin.

As a DUELI student, you will have access to a wide range of services, facilities and support designed to make your time at Deakin more rewarding and productive, both academically and personally. These services include:

Free airport reception Students arriving at Deakin University for the first time can be met free of charge at Melbourne Airport and taken either to the campus or their accommodation.
To receive this service, you will need to complete the relevant section on the DUELI Notification of Arrival form (133kb).
Homestay accommodation / accommodation assistance You have the option of staying in homestay accommodation as a DUELI student, where you will have the unique opportunity of experiencing firsthand the Australian way of life in a safe and caring environement.
If you do not wish to stay in homestay accommodation, Deakin can organise temporary accommodation for you and assist you while you look for permanent accommodation.
To apply for temporary accommodation, you will need to complete the relevant section on the DUELI Notification of Arrival form (133kb).
International Registration and Enrolment Program Deakin runs a compulsory International Registration and Enrolment Program before the start of your DUELI course. This program is a vital introduction to life as a student and presents information that will help you to succeed at Deakin. An important part of this program is formal enrolment in your course.
International Student Advisers (ISAs) International Student Advisers are available on each campus and coordinate the support services for international students. ISAs are dedicated to the needs of international students and are committed to helping you achieve your full potential. They are your first point of contact on many issues, including student and work visas.

In addition, you can enjoy a wide range of services and facilities at Deakin, including academic skills support, IT services and facilities, personal counselling, disability support services and more.

The Division of Student Life also provides a wide range of services which all students can access during their time at Deakin.
