"Before I came to Australia, I did a Bachelor of Soil Science in The Netherlands. As my English wasn't very good, I wanted to improve it before I went on to do my Masters degree. I then contacted different universities in Melbourne, and Deakin University was the one that provided me with the best feedback.

I have been enrolled in DUELI's General English course for about five weeks now. Throughout the course, I've not only learnt a lot about the English language, but also about Australian culture.

I was also surprised that our course did not take place in the classroom only, but included excursions as well. We visited the Art Gallery and went on a city tour with our teacher, and saw some movies. These activities made the course and learning English an interesting and useful experience.

On weekends, I usually like to go on trips. Melbourne has a fantastic tram system, and travelling on Sundays is great because it is so cheap. There are also a lot of companies which organise day tours around Melbourne, where you can meet new people from all over the world. In fact, Melbourne is really the place to be if you want to have a great time.

It is a really exciting place with many different shops, parks and people, and you can improve your English skills while studying at Deakin. What more could you ask for?"
