Non-school leaver or mature age student?

Non-school leavers are classified as those who are moving into tertiary study from a background other than Year 12.

Mature age students are those who are moving into tertiary study and are 21 years or over on 1 January of the year of intake. Mature age students are eligible to apply through Deakin's Access and Equity program.

Credit for prior learning
Deakin acknowledges that many commencing students come from TAFE, other universities and the workforce and offers extensive credit transfer arrangements for most courses.
