Tram zone changes mean cheaper travel to Deakin
Deakin's Melbourne Campus at Burwood is now located in the overlap of zone 1 and zone 2 of Melbourne's tram network.
This means you can take the 75 tram from either direction along the Burwood Highway and get to the Campus with either a zone 1 or a zone 2 ticket.
Re-zoning of the tram network has seen the zone 1 and 2 overlap extended to the eastern end of tram routes 42, 75, 86 and 109.
You should continue using a zone 2 Metcard for trips taken entirely within zone 2.
Zone 1+2 Metcards can still be used on trains and buses, but tram travellers can return any unused zone 1+2 Metcards for a refund until 30 September (no administration fee will apply.)
