Deakin students come from all walks of life, so we understand that everyone learns differently. With four Campuses and off-campus study options, you choose where and when you study. You can also choose from a variety of teaching delivery methods including traditional on-campus lectures, podcasts, iLectures and online tutorials. Flexible course entry and exit points, deferment and full-time and part-time study all allow you to choose the pace of your study, meaning in many courses, you can achieve your dreams sooner.

For working professionals, off-campus study (or distance education) is fast becoming the preferred way to combine study with your other commitments. At Deakin, we support distance education students by offering a comprehensive range of services and activities to suit your circumstances. This begins with an orientation program for new students and introduces all areas of administrative and academic support. Students studying off campus take exactly the same course as on-campus students, except in place of attending on-campus classes, they receive comprehensive study materials including:

• study guides, reading lists, audio and video tapes
• the Deakin Software Essentials DVD , which provides you with access to software that you may need or find useful for your study at Deakin.
• online teaching and communication, including iLecture and virtual chatrooms between peers and staff
• audio or video conferencing with tutors and other students.

At Deakin, we understand that your time is valuable. Our intensive study mode gives you increased flexibility to complete a unit of study in a shorter and more efficient way, making it easier to complete your postgraduate qualification whilst juggling work, lifestyle and family commitments.
