English language requirements

Deakin reserves the right to seek further documentary evidence of English proficiency. International applicants are obliged to provide such evidence.

If English is not your first language, proof of English proficiency may be satisfied by one of the tests below, depending on the Faculty to which you are applying. Please note that all tests must have been completed within the last two years.

Other possible demonstrations of English language ability can be found at Future Students - International. The Faculties and Institutes have the final decision on all admission requirements.

The Faculties of Health, Science & Technology and ITRI may allow you to provide proof of your English proficiency after they have approved your application. If so, the required standard may be achieved at the Deakin University English Language Institute (DUELI).
