International Postgraduate Research Scholarships (IPRS)

The International Postgraduate Research Scholarship is funded by the Australian Government and awarded to international students wishing to undertake graduate research degree studies at the University.

Benefits and conditions

  • Scholarships are open to international students of all countries (except New Zealand) and are available for a period of two years for a Research Masters degree or three years for a Research Doctorate degree. 
  • The scholarship covers tuition fees and health cover costs for scholarship holders, and health cover costs for their dependants.
  • Commencing IPRS recipients may also be eligible for an Australian Postgraduate Award.

Eligibility criteria

To be considered for an IPRS, applicants need to have an unconditional offer of a place in a research degree course (eg. Masters by Research, PhD or other research doctorate) at Deakin University.

Closing date and timelines

Applications open 1 February and close 31 July. All applicants must submit their completed online applications for admission by 31 July.
