A PhD Scholarship in social justice and teaching practice in secondary schools is now available in Deakin University's School of Education. The project will be supervised by Prof Trevor Gale, Dr Russell Cross (University of Melbourne) and Dr Carmen Mills (University of Queensland) and is part of an Australian Research Council grant.

Social justice dispositions informing teachers' pedagogy in advantaged and disadvantaged secondary schools.
Description of project
The research expands understanding of social justice dispositions informing teaching practice in advantaged and disadvantaged secondary schools. It explores how these dispositions emphasize different practices for teachers in different contexts. The successful applicant will work closely with the research team involved with the ARC project. His/her research will form part of the larger project and will also contribute to the larger project. Some interstate travel may be involved. A full project description is also available.
Eligibility
Previous research experience or experience as a school teacher or as a student teacher is desirable.
