Deakin Accommodation Scholarships

If you are moving away from your rural and regional home location to study at Deakin in Geelong or Warrnambool, please consider applying for a Deakin Accommodation Scholarship.  Without the financial pressures of living away from home, you can focus on achieving academic success in your studies.

Value

Up to $9500 towards annual accommodation costs in Deakin University residences at the Geelong Waurn Ponds Campus or $8000 at the Warrnambool Campus.

Duration

Normal duration of the course, subject to satisfactory academic performance.

Number per year

15 in total allocated to Geelong and Warrnambool.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be:

  • an Australian citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
  • a commencing student enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree in a Commonwealth supported place
  • have moved away from a rural or regional home location to study on campus at either the Geelong Campus at Waurn Ponds or the or Warrnambool Campus
  • able to demonstrate you are in receipt of a means-tested Centrelink benefit or have a personal or family taxable income below the HECS repayment threshold, depending on independence status.

Selection criteria

Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the information you provide in your application and supporting documentation.

Special conditions

Successful applicants are not permitted to hold another accommodation scholarship concurrently.

Scholarship applications for 2012 are now closed. 

Deakin University acknowledges the traditional land owners of present campus sites.
