City of Greater Geelong Scholarship

The Deakin City of Greater Geelong Scholarship was established as a mechanism to support local (to Deakin’s Geelong Campuses) students entering into an undergraduate Engineering program and who, because of some form of hardship, disability or other disadvantage, might not otherwise enjoy the benefits that flow from participation in higher education.

Payment of student contributions of up to $6500 per year

4 years, normal duration of the course, subject to satisfactory academic performance

Eligibility

To be eligible for this scholarship you must be:

  • an Australian citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent humanitarian visa
  • a future student enrolled full time in an undergraduate engineering course at one of Deakin’s Geelong Campuses in a Commonwealth supported place
  • a permanent resident of the City of Greater Geelong
  • able to demonstrate an area of disadvantage:
    • you are a mature age student
    • you have a personal disability or long term medical condition
    • you are an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander.

Selection criteria

Your application will be assessed and ranked based on the information you provide in your application and supporting documentation.
