Pathways into Deakin University

Getting in to Deakin University

Your TAFE qualification will place you in a fantastic position to gain entry into Deakin University. About 40 percent of Deakin's commencing undergraduate students come from backgrounds other than secondary school, including TAFE and the workforce.

Deakin has a core commitment to access, equity and lifelong learning and has strong and long-standing working relationships with TAFE and other VET providers. You'll find Deakin goes out of its way to attract and welcome students who are admitted on the basis of their VET qualifications.

Credit for your TAFE studies

Depending on your course, you may be able to gain credit at Deakin for the study you have already completed at TAFE. In most cases, this will reduce the number of units and/or time required to complete your Deakin qualification.

For further information regarding credit transfer please download the Pathways publication (632KB).

To determine the level of credit (advanced standing) you may be entitled to search Deakin's advanced standing database.

If you are an international student interested in credit for your TAFE studies, please visit international pathways.
