Scholarship enhances student's university experience

James Grace, recipient of the Deakin Australia Post Scholarship, shares his experiences:

'I was fortunate enough to receive the very generous Australia Post Scholarship.

What this means is that not only will I have the best start to my working career by not being tied down to a HECS debt, I can also enjoy a much more fulfilling education while at university.

I have so far used the scholarship to buy all my textbooks as well as study guides, a gym membership to keep me fit and healthy throughout the year, new software, my petrol costs, as I have a long distance to travel to uni, and also services to keep my car in working condition.

But it's not just about what the scholarship has bought. Because of the scholarship, I have been able to decrease the number of hours I work, giving me more time to study. The scholarship has also given me confidence in my abilities and motivated me when I've gone through tough periods of study.

I would like to sincerely thank Australia Post for this support. Overall, this scholarship has given me a better quality of life, now and into the future.'
