Jodie Satour, Pratt Family Foundation Scholarships recipient and Institute of Koorie Education student shares her experiences:

'When I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Social Work, I wanted two things: a university that offered a community-based model and one that had a reputation for assisting students to pursue their goals. The Institute of Koorie Education at Deakin gave me what I wanted and more. The community-based model allows me to study in my own community with the option of attending two-week intensive blocks. The Institute has a reputation for assisting students to reach their full potential. The course lecturers bring real life experiences into the classroom, there is an impressive array of guests and a diverse body of students to stimulate class discussions.

'Deakin also offers students the opportunity to receive scholarships to alleviate hardship. The Pratt Family Foundation Scholarship helps students reduce their HECS debts - this is made possible through the University's philanthropic partnership with the Pratt Family Foundation.'
