Natalie Welfare, recipient of the Helen Macpherson Smith Scholarship, shares her experiences.

'I am a first year undergraduate student at Deakin University and received the Helen Macpherson Smith Scholarship in 2009. I feel honoured to be selected as the recipient of the scholarship and would like to express my sincere gratitude for this most generous assistance with my education.

As a rural student who has had to relocate to the city to further my education, I appreciate the foresight and generosity of Helen Macpherson Smith Trust whose vision for women will benefit me for years to come as I am sure it has done for many young women before me.

This scholarship allows me the opportunity to gain a degree in Psychology and begin my career in this field without the stress of having thousands of dollars of debt to repay, a gift that I will truly appreciate for years to come.'
