Giving to Deakin: Investing in Education and Innovation

A message from the Vice-Chancellor

Vice-Chancellor, Professor Jane den Hollander

Education changes lives – and changed lives affect the future of our nation.

Universities are fundamental to Australia’s economic, cultural and social development. They build a highly-educated and skilled workforce, contribute to cultural and social development, and drive economic success.

Deakin University understands that excellence in teaching, learning and research has a profound and positive impact, not only on individuals and communities, but on national and international interests.

Deakin’s research is committed to addressing real-world problems. Working collaboratively across multiple disciplines – and with a range of industry, business, and government partners – our researchers are providing innovative solutions to some of the world’s most challenging issues.

The University is also committed to enhancing educational opportunities for groups of Australians who are under-represented in the higher education sector. These include Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians, people from rural and regional Australia, and those from low socio-economic or disadvantaged backgrounds.

To continue our research and to expand educational opportunities, Deakin needs your help. We welcome contributions from philanthropic organisations, the corporate sector and individuals who share our vision and commitment.

This web site outlines some of the ways you can support our students, our research and priority projects at Deakin.

I hope that you can partner with Deakin University as we invest in the future of our region, our state and our nation.
