The Faculty of Arts offers an exciting range of programs across the fields of communication and media; government and community; international studies; and the performing and creative arts. All programs offer high-quality teaching of humanities and social science disciplines and generic skills such as critical and analytical thinking, research methodologies, oral and written communication, IT competencies and teamwork. Our programs link these intellectual skills to the professional and vocational skills required by the changing workplace. Students are given many opportunities to undertake work placements and to experience international exchange, particularly in international relations and language and cultural studies. Our programs also aim to provide students with the knowledge and professional flexibility relevant to the world of globalisation in which graduates of the early twenty-first century must work.
I am sure that you will enjoy your studies in the Faculty Arts and come to realise for yourself that the arts really do make a difference! The study of the humanities and social sciences are vital to making Australian society equitable, humane and innovative.

Our Faculty is committed to extending the boundaries of business and legal education and to conducting research in these areas. We achieve this through close relationships with professional associations, other universities and teaching institutions, business, employers and government—across Australia and internationally.
