Understanding the study of key molecules regulating insulin signalling, the identification of genes contributing to or associated with the disease, and novel therapies.

  1. Fingerprinting the different forms of insulin resistance by gene cluster analysis (Molero, Segal, Walder  & Konstantopoulos),
  2. Identification of chemerin as a novel adipokine  (Segal),
  3. Understanding the role of c-Cbl in muscle metabolism (Molero),
  4. NDRG2 interacting proteins in human skeletal muscle (Molero & Foletta),
  5. Antidiabetic effects of thioredoxin-type proteins (Walder, Windmill & Foletta).
