Molecular Medicine

Understanding the molecular basis of cancer and related disorders including sequelae such as cancer cachexia. Research utilizing informative animal (rodents and zebra fish)  and cell culture models to unravel the role of these molecules in both normal development, as well as disease.

  1. A novel tumour targeting nanoliposome drug delivery system for treatment of malignant gliomas (Duan),
  2. Role of Socs proteins in health & disease (Ward),
  3. The role of Stat5 in development & disease (Ward),
  4. Understanding the role of export parasite proteins in malaria infection (de Koning-Ward),
  5. Mechanisms of cardiovascular degeneration in cancer induced cachexia (Lewandowski),
  6. Does canola oil contain toxic substances which shorten life? (Lewandowski).
