Graduated: Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics/Bachelor of Applied Science (Health Sciences)
Daniel completed his combined degree at Deakin in 2004, having studied at the Melbourne Burwood Campus where he 'enjoyed the friendly atmosphere and met some great people'. As he came from country Victoria, Daniel lived in the University residences for a year. Daniel then moved into a shared house with friends he met at Deakin residences and recommends the experience of living on campus to anyone.
Currently, Daniel is working as a dietitian at St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne, assessing and managing short term inpatient nutrition as well as longer term management and follow up as appropriate. 'The course I undertook was tailored for my future working life in clinical dietetics', said Daniel, 'but I also gained a good understanding of community nutrition'.
In the future, Daniel hopes to educate children and adolescents around the schools of Victoria and, perhaps, Australia-wide about the importance of a good and healthy diet. At this time, however, he enjoys seeing patients progress and being in a position to be able to help them.
