- About Deakin
Welcome to the newly formed Medicine Alumni Chapter. The first cohort of 109 Deakin medical students graduated at the end of 2011 with their Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery. This was a momentous occasion for the students, who proudly completed their medical degrees at Victoria’s first rural and regional medical school. These students have now gone on to join Deakin’s Medicine Alumni Chapter, and, through it, will keep in touch with fellow students and Deakin staff and will be informed of social events, networking opportunities and other events organised through the Chapter.
Membership of the Medicine Alumni Chapter is open to all Deakin medicine graduates.
The School of Medicine is strongly committed to the medical and health fields, to medical research and to the health and wellbeing of rural and regional communities, as well as to the roles the medical profession can play in the community and in graduates' professional lives.
We hope that as the Medicine Alumni Chapter develops there will be strong interaction between the School, its current students and all graduate cohorts.
I strongly encourage you to make use of the Alumni facilities, particularly this website. Please feel free to share your experiences and opinions with us and be on the lookout for information about upcoming events.
