- About Deakin
The Master of Psychology (Clinical) course commenced with an annual intake of 12 students in 1994 and the Doctor of Psychology program was introduced in 1999. To celebrate the 10 years of graduations from these programs, a reunion dinner for all graduates or those eligible to graduate was hosted by the School of Psychology. Staff were successful in locating 70 of the 135 registered, and 65 of them were interested in attending the dinner. Fifty of these people were able to come along on the night.
A dinner was held at a venue in Fitzroy and was extremely successful. The atmosphere was one of excitement and goodwill, with a constant buzz about the room. Many of the attendees expressed their gratitude and enthusiasm on the night and by way of emails, extracts from which are shown below:
Just wanted to thank you for organising a lovely evening last night. It was great to catch up with the graduates from my year and meet people from other years. I'm surprised I didn't know more of the past graduates but I guess I've only been qualified for a couple of years! Looking forward to the next.
Thank you so much for organising the dinner last night. I had a wonderful time catching up with old friends and look forward to keeping in touch with Deakin in the future, all the best.
Just a quick note to say thank you very much for organising such a fantastic dinner last night. It was wonderful to catch up with everyone and see so many people there!
Just a quick note to say thanks for organising the knees' up last night. Wonderful idea, lovely night, pleasure to be invited. Great to catch up with so many people who played an important part in my professional development - peers and staff alike. So, it's an annual event then!
