Role and profile
Megan Teychenne is a Lecturer in the areas of Physical Activity and Health in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. Further, she has recently submitted her PhD thesis examining physical activity, sedentary behaviour and depression amongst socio-economically disadvantaged women and is a member of the Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (C-PAN).

Research interests
Megan’s research is primarily focussed on investigating the associations between physical activity, sedentary behaviours and depression in socio-economically disadvantaged women. Further, Megan has an interest in the intra-personal, social and physical-environmental influences on socio-economically disadvantaged women’s physical activity and sedentary behaviour. In addition, Megan is particularly interested in the development of strategies to promote physical activity and reduce sedentary behaviours amongst ‘high-risk’ groups, including women at risk of depression and/or living in socio-economically disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
