Health careers
The benefits to an individual’s health from participating in exercise and sport are now widely known and promoted with both primary and allied health care practitioners recommending exercise to people with chronic diseases such as diabetes. Exercise is also seen as an effective and low cost disease prevention strategy for organisations, communities and governments as a way to reduce the public burden of disease. Deakin Exercise and Sport Science graduates have found employment in a range of health-related occupations such as:

Job titles/roles:
Exercise Physiologist, Health Promotion Officer, Project Officer, Project Development/Advisory, Community Health Worker, Health Coach (personal, group, community, organisational), Sales Representative for health food/drugs/pharmaceuticals and equipment
Employers:
Government agencies (local, state, federal), community health centres, hospitals, medical clinics, health in the workplace, corporate health, health spas/resorts (private sector), health insurance companies
