Role and profile
Dr Clare Hume is a National Heart Foundation of Australia post-doctoral research fellow in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. Dr Hume is a member of the Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (C-PAN) and is an active researcher into a range of issues related to the factors influencing physical activity and sedentary behaviours among young people.
Teaching responsibilities
Co-supervising or advising 5 PhD students.
Research interests
Dr Hume is interested in active transport among children and adolescents, and the physical and social environmental factors that affect their opportunities and choices for walking and cycling. She is also interested in the development of novel intervention strategies to promote physical activity and reduce sedentary behaviours among youth. She is involved with several large-scale, ARC and NH&MRC funded projects examining these issues.
