Role and profile
Associate Professor Jill Cook is the Honours Director in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences. She teaches students in their fourth year of either the Food Science and Nutrition degree or Exercise and Sport Science degree in the area of developing research skills. Associate Professor Cook is a member of the Centre for Physical Activity and Nutrition Research (C-PAN) and is an active researcher into soft tissue and sporting injuries.
Research interests
Associate Professor Cook's research is concerned with soft tissue injuries and sports injuries. The musculoskeletal system includes muscles, tendons and bones, often investigated in isolation. Research into synergies between these systems will improve understanding of injury, repair and recovery.

Associate Professor Cook is the Honours Director of both the Food Science and Nutrition and Exercise and Sport Science degrees.She is also a Senior Associate Editor of the British Journal of Sports Editor since 2008 and is currently a Guest Editor of the British Journal of Sports Medicine (2007 and 2009). Associate Professor Cook has been a member of the Basketball Australia sports science/sports medicine committee since 1992 and has been the Conference Chair of the Australian Conference of Science and Medicine in Sport Conference from the years 2005 to 2008.
