Role and profile
Associate Professor in Public Health Nutrition in the School of Exercise and Nutrition Sciences.
Also the Director of the Food Policy Unit (FPU) at the WHO Collaborative Centre for Obesity Prevention


Teaching responsibilities
Undergraduate and postgraduate teaching activities in food policy, food regulation and professional competencies for public health nutrition (advocacy, research skills, communication skills, etc). Also the coordinator of the postgraduate public health nutrition program.


Research interests
Include the food and nutrition system, developing policy and regulatory approaches for food security, obesity prevention and promoting food sustainability in the context of climate change, in addition to food fortification and health claims.


Awards and prizes
2009 Victorian Healthcare Awards: Premier’s Excellence Award (‘Tackling chronic disease and improving public health’ category). WHO Collaborating Centre for Obesity Prevention: Highly Commended.
